Deans Court

25 September 2016

Hi everyone,

It's been a very long time since I last posted on here. Summer has come and gone. There were many days spent outdoors this year basking in the glory of the English sun, that was ever more present this year. My current role as a mother has been an all encompassing role, and I guess you can say I am technically on maternity leave. I have enjoyed motherhood tremendously but there have been an emotional, mental and physical rollercoaster. Spending time and caring for Finn is more than a full-time role. For the moment it has left me little time and energy for sharing recipes on the blog, as I have made a conscious effort to be in the present when I am with Finn.

Those who are new to motherhood will understand that it can be a lonely role, so when I received an email from Lottie at Deans Court inviting me to attend a workshop and meet other Instagrammers, I was thrilled. Deans Court is a beautiful private house and garden in Wimborne, Dorset that has remained in the Hanham family for 14 generations. William & Ali kindly opened the doors to their home for the day, and allowed us a rare opportunity to have a look inside.

Lisa from All Hallows Farmhouse gave us a lesson in cooking with an AGA (I now want one!), we had a hand at bee keeping, was given a tour of the enviable walled garden, Sarah of Studio Britford performed a gong bath session and was shown by Ross of Dorset Herbals how to make the perfect chai tea. Not to mention the delicious spread laid out for us for lunch. See how beautifully styled it was by The Linen Works?

What a memorable day. I couldn't think of a better way to say good bye to Summer and welcome in Autumn. Thank you to Deans Court for hosting a great event.
