London Stories : Spring Restaurant

16 October 2016

I have lived in London for over 5 years and I like to think I know this city quite well. Having a baby hasn't stopped me from wanting to explore this ever changing city. I still enjoy visiting the familiar and the favourite places, as well as discovering new ones. The beauty about London is that it is so big and vast, you are never short of ideas and places to visit. New restaurants and cafes are opening up all the time. Hence, I thought it was about time I started a new series called London Stories highlighting those special and beautiful places to visit.

The first restaurant that came to mind was Spring Restaurant, by chef Skye Gyngell. Not only is it situated in one of the most iconic and historical houses in London, Somerset House, it has elegant interiors with touches of modernity to swoon over. It is airy, fresh and bright, thanks to the expansive windows and high ceilings. The menu is seasonal and so is the table decor. Autumn vegetables currently decorate the tables, a reminder of the season we're in. It's a place you may want to reserve for a special occasion. But if you don't get the chance to dine at Spring, you can always have a drink and nibbles in the Salon room. It's worth the visit just to have a peak at the beautiful interiors.
