London Stories : Petersham Nurseries
14 November 2016
Over the summer, I spent a lot of time exploring Richmond. I have always loved this part of London for it's beauty, water views and proximity to the Thames, the wildlife in the park (you can spot deers) and so much green space. You don't have to venture very far to find a little green oasis to your very own. Petersham Nurseries has become another great reason why I love this neighbourhood. I came here quite frequently to wander around the nursery before having lunch. You have the choice of a fancy lunch in the restaurant or a basic menu is available in the Teahouse. I would often sit here for hours basking in the warmth and enjoyed being surrounded by plants.
Travel : Lisbon
25 October 2016
About a month ago I had my summer holiday in Portugal. It was one of those places that was on my bucket list for a long time and I finally made it there. We spent our first few nights in lovely Lisbon before travelling down the coast towards the Algarve.
What I will remember Lisbon mostly for is the light and shadows that fell on the crumbling facades of the buildings. Our days were spent meandering through the city in awe of it's imperfect beauty. Alfama, the old town, being our favourite part of the city with its rustic charm, tiled walls and pastel coloured buildings. We explored deserted alleyways, capturing locals going about their day. Lisbon is a hilly city and if you find the right location, you will be rewarded with breathtaking views across the city and Rio Tajo. If you find the hills too much for walking, you can always catch a tuk tuk or one of the many trams that criss cross the city.
Travel Photo Essay | Ireland Road Trip
18 November 2015
During the summer this year, I was back again for a road trip through The Republic of Ireland. It was a journey I had planned on doing for some time with the aim of seeing parts of Ireland that were new to me. We picked up a van in London and drove to Pembroke in Wales, boarded a ferry and continued our journey from Rosslare along the southern Irish coast for a week. We continued our journey through Wexford, Waterford, Cork, the Ring of Kerry, Ring of Beara and finally Galway. One of the highlights was visiting World Heritage Listed Skellig Michael, an island that was once occupied as a Christian Monastery.
Although it was summer, we had lots of rain and wind. I relished braving the elements that mother nature put us through but there were moments when the unrelenting rain drove us to despair. But it was part of the adventure and it wouldn't have been an Irish holiday without some rain. But that's what attributes to the beautiful, green landscapes of Ireland.
These photos remind of my trip to Ireland last year for this food styling and photography workshop hosted by . I met a lot of inspiring people, one of them being the talented Jette Virdi. She recently launched her new blog and I was honoured to be the first to guest post with this recipe.

Travel | Koster Island & The Bohuslan Coast
31 July 2015
As much as I like a city break, I like to visit smaller towns if time allows me. After reading about Koster Island and the Bohuslän Coast, I was hooked and had to include it in our itinerary, The drive from Stockholm to the west cost of Sweden, took approximately 6 hours with a couple of breaks in between. Being an optimist, the drive took much longer than I expected. The day we left Stockholm, the sunny days we had experienced were replaced with dark clouds and a lot of rain. It was a somber end to our Stockholm visit, but we knew we were heading towards an area of Sweden that reputedly gets the most sun.
Travel | A Guide To Stockholm
28 July 2015
I’m so happy that I finally made it to Sweden. Although I can tick that country off my bucket list, I only scratched the surface and I would love to go back. I have an obsession with Scandinavia. I'm a huge fan of their minimal, contemporary designs, and some of my favourite music acts like Lykke Li, Röyksopp and The Knife are from there. I admit, I even like Ikea. Shopping was one activity Mark and I indulged in. And even better, we happened to be there when the sales were on. I got to re-visit my favourite Swedish labels like Hope, ACNE, Samsøe & Samsøe, Filippa K, Marimekko, & Other Stories and COS.
Mark and I spent 4 days in Stockholm before driving to the west coast of Sweden to spend 6 days exploring the Bohuslän coast with 2 nights spent on the car free Koster Island.
SUNRISE OVER GALWAY BAY
7 January 2015
Happy New Year Everyone!
Have you all made new year resolutions for yourselves? I didn’t make one this year. Instead, I’ve made a note to myself live my life as happily and fulfilling as possible this year.
I recently returned from Galway, Ireland where I spent the Christmas holiday with my husband and in-laws. Traveling to Ireland for Christmas is an annual ritual we have taken part in for the past 4 years since we moved to London. A ritual that involves over-eating, one too many slices of biscuit cake, sleep-ins, little exercise, the occasional walk on the prom (if it’s not raining), excessive drinking, and lots of catch up sessions with friends at one of the many Irish pubs in town. This year was no different and just the way I like it. The only difference I noticed this year was how little it rained in comparison to previous years. It rains a lot (and I mean A LOT!) in Ireland, and it rains even more on the west coast in Galway (there’s a reason why the whole country is so green). This year, the clear skies made way for glorious sunny days and the most beautiful pink coloured sunrises and sunsets I have witnessed in Ireland to date. This is a big statement for me considering I’ve been visiting Ireland for the past 10 years.

FOOD STYLING & PHOTOGRAPHY RETREAT : PART 2
23 October 2014

I woke up the next morning still full of food from our memorable dinner the night before. We were treated to an Indian feast of huge proportions and portions. Special guest chef Sanjay travelled all the way from Dublin to Ballynahinch Castle to prepare us a meal that was fitting of royalty.
An adventurous boat trip was scheduled on our second day of the Lens & Larder retreat but I wasn't prepared for how amazing the location and setting was for day 2 of our retreat. It was a cold day enveloped by grey skies. We boarded a fishing boat from Roundstone and made our way to an uninhabited island called Inishlaken. There was once a small population on this tiny island until it was completely abandoned in 1954. Now, only the rabbits live on the island. The old schoolhouse would be the location of our next workshop. It was an extreme privilege to have been given reign of the schoolhouse.

FOOD STYLING & PHOTOGRAPHY RETREAT : PART 1
21 October 2014
It has never been more apt for me to say this, but it’s all about being in the right place at the right time. I had been wanting to participate in a food styling/photography workshop for the last couple of years but I was waiting for the right one to come along.
My patience was rewarded and the stars had aligned in my favour. It just so happened that my friend alerted me to a post on Instagram about an upcoming retreat called to be held in Connemara, Ireland. The location was enticing and something about it felt right. I ummed and ahhed for days about the cost. Should I, shouldn’t I? In the end, I went with my gut instinct and just went for it. I nabbed myself a spot on the retreat, paid the deposit and was locked in.
A WEDDING ANNIVERSARY
14 September 2014

What is life without celebrations? We should celebrate more often, not only the big moments but the little moments.
"There are exactly as many special occasions in life as we choose to celebrate." - Robert Brault
Last weekend I celebrated a deservingly fitting occasion that called for a celebration - my 1 year wedding anniversary. A year ago I wed my partner of 10 years. It took us long enough to walk down the aisle but we got there. We held the wedding on the beautiful grounds of Villa Catignano in Tuscany, Italy. It was a union of two souls, two cultures and two families. We merged Vietnamese/Buddhist and Irish/Catholic traditions together to create a unique ceremony. To describe this day in words would not do it justice. As the saying goes, photos tell a thousands words.

TRAVEL | A SHORT GUIDE TO BERLIN
7 September 2014

Berlin has been on my bucket list for some time now and I was finally able to tick it off my list. Considering how big the city is and how much I enjoyed my visit, another re-visit to Berlin might have to ensue in the coming months. There is a huge amount of places to visit and so much history to take in. My 4 day city break only gave me small glimpse into this vibrant city. Below are recommendations of the places I was able to see on this trip.
TRAVEL | A SHORT GUIDE TO MILAN
3 August 2014

I recently went to Milan to visit an Irish friend who has made this commercial yet vibrant city his home. It was a short 3 day trip. I had been to Milan before but once only in 1999 (I feel really old). To think that was nearly 15 years ago!
Milan is the 2nd most populated city in Italy after Rome, situated in the Lombardy region. It’s a sprawling metropolis interweaved with finance companies and most notably the mega Italian fashion houses that we’re all familiar with. I have to admit, Milan isn’t a particularly attractive city in Italian terms but it has some impressive landmarks and a great social scene. Piazza Del Duomo is the busiest tourist attraction in Milan. It marks the city centre and from this vantage point you have impressive views of the Duomo, Palace Royal and Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II.
TRAVEL | A SHORT GUIDE TO COPENHAGEN
1 July 2014
I had high expectations of Copenhagen. As I disembarked the plane, entered the airport and swiftly walked through customs, I liked the efficiency. I had a really good feeling about the city. I had 4 days to explore, eat, drink and shop. As usual, I tried to pack in way too much in the short space of time that I had. More photos here from this trip.
Copenhagen is divided into distinct areas with their own distinct personalities. It’s a small city that is walkable, although there is an easy metro system if you prefer not to walk and save your energy. It’s very easy to spend a few days mooching around, soaking up the atmosphere and eat and drink well. This city is really a foodie’s paradise and you would need about a month (and a huge spending budget) to eat at all the wonderful restaurants and bars on offer. The Danes are incredibly friendly, helpful and they all speak English. I will always remember Casper (the tall, helpful Danish stranger) for helping us find Boxland. He initially sent us in the wrong direction and took the time out to check the exact location on his phone. He eventually escorted us to the market and we got the opportunity to chat to him about life in Copenhagen. It’s moments like these when you visit a foreign city, that leaves a lasting impression on you. I wasn’t quite ready to leave after 4 days, so here’s hoping I’ll make it back again.
GIVERNY IN PICTURES
21 June 2014
I have wanted to visit Claude Monet's Gardens for as long as I can remember. I first heard about this place when I studied Monet's Water Lillies in art class and since then I have wanted to visit the home and town that inspired him. It seemed like a faraway place that was out of reach at the time and it would be nearly 15 years until I finally get the chance to visit.
SEMANTA SANTA | EASTER CELEBRATIONS IN ANTIGUA, GUATEMALA
12 June 2014
I recently travelled through Guatemala and Belize. I had been longing to venture back to Central America since my last visit there 3 years ago. I was also missing the sun, humidity and wanted an adventure. Guatemala wasn't the first place I had considered for this trip but a few friends convinced me otherwise. I decided to coincide my trip around Easter, as I found out through my research that Easter (Semanta Santa) is celebrated in a big way, especially in Antigua. I wasn't prepared for how big the celebrations were.
LAKE ATITLAN, GUATEMALA
7 June 2014

During my Guatemalan adventure, I spent a few nights on Lake Atitlan. It had such an impact on me that I felt it deserved it's own post. I watched the sunrise in the mornings and in the evenings I watched the fireflies flash their tail lights. I had a memorable stay at the eco-lodge La Fortuna. The lake was enchanting and the tranquility was just what I needed to relax and clear my mind for a few days.
